The title came about in sort of a free association way, well, "nasty nails" arrived first, but I thought someone would think of something disgusting instead of metallurgical, so I changed it to the above. Also, the mood of the song is more of a wooden kind versus steel. The fingerpicks and the thumbpick I play with are made of metal though. The tune builds upon a polyphonic theme played on the low strings & low frets, with the bridge pickup (set to parallel) + the neck pickup together, volume rolled down a bit. It receives a rhythmic "guitrhythm" track, and I finish with playing melody lines on top of these.
